Live talk: Why does Switzerland need an ombuds office for children’s rights?

19 November 2021

Switzerland ratified the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) in 1997 and pledged to implement the requirements on a political, official and legislative level. However, the country report for Switzerland on the implementation of the UNCRC indicates that the requirements are still not being adequately implemented.

That is why we now need a decisive approach to drive the implementation of children’s rights in Switzerland. Why is the Ombuds Office for Children’s Rights Switzerland an indispensable institution in this duty?

Our CEO Irène Inderbitzin talks about this in the first OSKR live talk featuring our head of our Consultation and Expertise – Katja Cavalleri Hug. Find out how we are making a decisive contribution to the implementation of children’s rights as a point of contact on legal issues for children and young people and how our expertise helps professionals and political decision-makers.
