Visit from SRF Kids News

25 November 2025

On the International Children's Rights Day, 'SRF Kids News' devoted an extensive segment to the question: 'Children have rights – but which ones?'. Although children's rights have been embedded in the Curriculum 21 for several years, practice shows that many children in Switzerland have insufficient knowledge of their rights. This makes formats like 'SRF Kids News', which reach many children and inform them in an understandable and age-appropriate manner, all the more important.

For the programme, SRF Kids reporter Sophie visited our offices in Winterthur and conducted an interview with Sandra Keller, legal adviser in the Advice & Expertise department. Sophie wanted to know in which situations children can turn to the ombuds office, how they can recognise that their rights have been violated, and what a child can do if they might not dare to call directly.
